Privacy at Noesis
Privacy policy

Noesis is a student-created study service made by Corbin, Giordan, Jamie and Piotr. Most planning and revision tools are free; the Learn AI tutor is part of Noesis Premium. We built Noesis to help students decide what to revise next, and protecting the information entrusted to us matters.
Our privacy approach
This policy explains how Noesis handles personal information. We designed it with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in mind: collect only what we need, explain why, protect it, and give people practical ways to access, correct or delete it. This policy applies to the Noesis website, planner and Learn AI tutor.

What we collect
- Account information: your email address and authentication details. If you choose Google sign-in, Google and Supabase provide the details needed to create and authenticate your account.
- Study information: the subjects you select, whether each syllabus point needs revision or has been revised, your low, moderate or high confidence rating, and the relevant update times.
- Learn information: the messages you send, AI responses, selected subject or syllabus scope, interactive answers, confidence updates, feedback, conversation titles and relevant times. Conversations are stored against your account so you can reopen them.
- Subscription information: whether you have Premium, relevant subscription update times, and the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers needed to manage billing. Payment-card details are submitted directly to Stripe and are not stored by Noesis.
- Technical information: essential authentication cookies and normal hosting or security logs, which may include an IP address, browser or device information, request time, requested page, usage limits, model request metadata, errors and performance information. Model request metadata does not need to contain the text of your message.
- Messages: anything you choose to include if you email us for help or feedback.
We do not ask for payment details, sell personal information, run behavioural advertising, or use third-party marketing analytics. We do not receive your full payment-card details. Do not send sensitive, confidential or another person’s personal information in Learn, support emails or feedback.
How and why we use it
We collect information when you create an account, choose subjects, use the planner or contact us. We use it only to:
- create and secure your account;
- save and sync your subject choices, revision status and confidence ratings;
- calculate your personal revision order and progress summaries;
- send Learn conversations to an AI model and return its response;
- save your Learn history and enforce reasonable usage and safety limits;
- separate messages from direct account identifiers and use de-identified excerpts, patterns, ratings, errors and feedback for human or automated quality evaluation;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve the service; and
- answer support, privacy or feedback messages.
Learn and AI processing
When you use Learn, the conversation content and relevant study scope are sent through OpenRouter to an upstream AI model provider. Noesis does not include your email address or Noesis user ID in the model request, but a message may identify you if you write identifying details in it. AI providers use international infrastructure and may process information outside Australia.
We may use Learn messages in de-identified form to evaluate tutor quality and improve prompts, safeguards and product features. OpenRouter states that it does not use inputs or outputs for model training, but upstream model providers have their own retention and training practices. Depending on the provider selected for a request, it may retain or use inputs and outputs to train or improve its models. Noesis does not use Learn to grade you or make decisions about your access to education. AI responses can be wrong, so check important information against your official syllabus, textbook and teacher.
Limited members of the Noesis team may access an account-linked conversation where reasonably necessary to provide support, troubleshoot a fault, investigate suspected misuse, protect the service or comply with law. Routine quality evaluation uses de-identified material.
Noesis also used AI tools during development. The syllabus content shown in the planner is manually checked by our team against source material.

These providers operate global infrastructure, so information may be processed or accessible outside Australia, including in the United States, the region selected for our Supabase project, and countries used by the model provider selected through OpenRouter. The particular model provider can change because OpenRouter routes between available providers. We take reasonable steps to select providers consistently with this policy, but provider retention for security, abuse prevention or legal requirements may apply. Their own policies also apply to their processing. You can read the OpenRouter terms.
Cookies and local settings
Noesis uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and complete secure sign-in flows. Your browser may also remember your light or dark theme preference. We do not use advertising cookies. Blocking essential cookies may stop account features from working.
Storage, security and retention
Account, study and Learn information is stored through Supabase. We use encrypted connections, authentication controls and database row-level security so signed-in users can access only their own progress and conversations. No online service can promise perfect security, so please use a unique password and tell us if something looks wrong.
We keep your account and study information while your account exists and as needed to run the service. Learn conversations remain until you delete a conversation or delete your account. Historical public-beta acceptance records contain only your account identifier, the terms version and acceptance time. They are retained as an administrative audit record while your account exists, are not exposed through the user-facing application, and are removed when your account is deleted. Aggregated or irreversibly de-identified findings cannot be linked back for removal. Limited backups or provider security logs may remain for a short period under providers’ normal retention and legal processes.
Access, correction, deletion and complaints
Most study information is visible in your planner and settings. You can change subject choices, reset progress, manage a Premium subscription, or delete your account from Settings. You can delete individual Learn conversations from Learn. You can also email us to ask what personal information we hold, request a correction or deletion, or make a privacy complaint. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you before acting.
Students and Learn eligibility
Noesis is intended for secondary-school study. You must be at least 13 to use Learn, and anyone under 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian. Learn shows a plain-language notice before it is first opened in a browser. If a learner cannot understand the notice or these terms, they should not use Learn without support from a parent or guardian. Students, parents and guardians can contact us about an account or its information.

Learn terms
Noesis is operated by Corbin, Giordan, Jamie and Piotr, collectively called the “Noesis team”, “Noesis”, “we” or “us”. By acknowledging the notice shown before Learn first opens in a browser, or by continuing to use Learn, you agree to these Learn terms and this privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use Learn.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Learn. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian and be able to understand how Learn handles information. You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity through your account.
Premium access and billing
Learn requires an active Noesis Premium subscription. The price, billing interval and applicable taxes are shown before checkout. Payments and subscription management are handled by Stripe. A subscription continues according to the checkout terms until it is cancelled through the billing portal or otherwise ends.
The end of the public beta does not automatically create a subscription or charge a payment method. You must actively subscribe to regain or continue Learn access. We may change models, features, prices, usage limits or availability, with notice where required by law. We do not promise uninterrupted access or that every feature will continue.
Your content and AI processing
You keep any rights you have in content you submit. You give Noesis a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, transmit, de-identify and evaluate that content only as reasonably needed to provide, secure, troubleshoot and improve Learn as described on this page. You confirm that you have the right to submit it.
Learn sends conversation content through OpenRouter to an upstream model provider. Each provider has its own terms, retention and model-training practices, and a provider may retain or use inputs and outputs to train or improve models. Read the OpenRouter privacy policy and OpenRouter terms. AI output may resemble output supplied to others, contain errors, or include material that another person claims rights in. We do not guarantee that output is unique or suitable for every purpose.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- break the law, encourage harm, impersonate someone or infringe another person’s rights;
- share credentials or create multiple accounts to evade access, message or usage limits;
- use bots, scripts, scraping, bulk requests, load testing or other automated access;
- resell Learn, provide your access to others, or use it to build a competing AI service;
- bypass security, authentication, subscriptions, rate limits, content controls or other restrictions;
- probe for vulnerabilities or attempt to extract protected prompts, credentials or system instructions;
- upload malware or submit unlawful, abusive, deceptive, infringing or dangerous content; or
- use Learn to cheat, submit AI output as your own assessed work, or breach school rules.
Reasonable daily and technical limits apply. We may investigate suspected misuse and throttle, suspend or remove access where reasonably necessary to protect users, Noesis, our providers or the public.
AI and education disclaimer
Learn is a study aid, not a teacher, examiner or source of professional advice. AI responses can be incomplete, outdated, misleading or confidently wrong. Check important information against your official syllabus, textbook and teacher. You remain responsible for your work, study choices and compliance with assessment rules. We do not guarantee marks, exam performance or any particular learning outcome.
Deletion, suspension and termination
You may delete individual conversations, cancel Premium or delete your account. Cancelling a subscription stops future paid access according to the applicable billing terms but does not itself delete saved conversations. We may suspend or end Learn or your access for misuse, legal or security reasons, provider unavailability or discontinuation of the service. Aggregated or irreversibly de-identified findings cannot be linked back for removal.
Consumer rights, liability and governing law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Noesis is provided “as is” and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, Learn.
We may update these terms as Learn changes. If one part is unenforceable, the remaining parts continue. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland and the Commonwealth of Australia, and disputes are subject to the courts of Queensland.
Changes to this policy and the Learn terms
As a student-built service, Noesis will change over time. We may update this page when the service, its data practices or the Learn terms change. We will provide additional notice where a material change requires it. The date at the top shows the latest version.
